EAGLES
Energetic, Ageless, Guys, Ladies, Enthusiastically, Serving

The EAGLES are the senior adults at CBC.  Anyone 50 and above is encouraged to take part in this time of fellowship.
Isaiah 40: 31   Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Just as the Eagle is known for strength, wisdom and keen eyesight as a mighty bird, we are encouraged to show wisdom, tenacity, courage, strength of character and a keen hindsight.   The EAGLES fellowship through road trips, gatherings at CBC for fun, food and fellowship and in other ways that keep us active and help us get to know each other more and to serve CBC with tenacity, strength of character and wisdom.
We also, try to plan a mission project each year which allows us all to serve together.

Biscuit Buddies are Senior Adults who meet each Thurs. at 9 a.m. usually in the Fellowship Hall at CBC.  We enjoy breakfast together (biscuits, gravy, jelly and other delicious food items each week along with plenty of hot coffee).  We enjoy inspiring devotions,  a time for prayer request and prayer and general announcements, game times, fun, fellowship, music and sometimes short outings to fun and interesting places.  We work on mission projects when the opportunity allows.

DOVES

Discipling, Obeying, Visiting, Encouraging, Serving
The CBC Inreach Team and open to all 18 years of age and older reaching out to through visitation, cards, emails, texts, etc.
Matt. 3:16-17 (KJV) 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

The dove symbolizes peace between God and humans. We chose this symbol to identify our mission to bring peace and help to those who may be hurting, lost, or in need of a kind deed. We are God’s messengers to our church members and regular attendees. We try to show others that they are loved because God first loved us. We do this through our Heartside Ministry, Our Dove E., and the Healing Hearts Ministry.

The Hearthside Ministry serves our homebound, temporary or permanent, through visitation, cards, calls, and the delivery of occasional meals and Sunday School literature. etc.

Dove the Encourager (Dove E.) Gives little stuffed animals to those in need of encouragement whether facing illness, losses or tough decisions.  Each animal has a note attached that reads:  “I have sat among the congregation of Community Baptist Church during worship services.  I have heard God’s Word of Grace, mercy and forgiveness, plus prayers for healing and comfort.  I have been loved on and soaked in God’s love.  I come to you to tell you that I placed all of those words in my heart to share with you.  Hold me close to your heart and feel God’s love.  God said that we should love one another and I want you to know that CBC and I love you and are praying for you.   Love and blessings to you from CBC and me.” Dove E.

The Healing Hearts Ministry is our grief ministry.  We currently have a widow’s group who meet monthly, share lunch and work on different ministry projects.  We also have a Grief Support Study that is shared as the need arises.
